Water Transmission, Distribution and Treatment

The Public Works Department oversees operations on water transmission, Distribution and water treatment. We have approximately 53 miles of water distribution mains, and 15 miles of service lines serving over 1500 connections. Our water sources consist of 5 spring collection areas encompassing 2 sq miles, and 4 well sources. All of our water resources are now classified as groundwater. All water sources are security fenced. Additional water operations include - 4 water operation buildings, 2 reservoirs, of which together have a storage capacity of 2.6 million gallons of water. We have and maintain approximately 150 fire hydrants, 700 valves, over 200 backflow devises in the water distribution system, 5 pressure reducing valves, and 5 pumping facilities. Water Treatment consists only of minimal chlorination.
