It is recommended that KCDEM-911 Dispatch be notified each day that a permitt holder will burn. This allows for better resource management. Dispatch may ask for location of the burn and contact information in case of an emergency. It is not required to call in before you burn.

This is not a good idea. The water in the fire engines is not good for swimming pools. The tank water may contain chemicals agents that assist us in fighting fires or good old pond water. A garden hose is the best option.
As much as we would like to help get the cat out of the tree. A cat is much safer in the tree than a firefighter. It is generally recommended to provide food at the base of the tree and let the cat come down on it's own. In severe cases, contact a tree service, they are better equipped to dwell in the trees.
