The City’s planning goals are governed by the 1999 Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This plan identifies community goals, prioritizes these goals and establishes the intent and policy base for the City’s zoning, subdivision and environmental rules.
Development activities have increased dramatically in 2006. Several new subdivisions have been approved and the City is excited about future development actives occurring in, and adjacent to, the City. Goldendale’s city government has chosen to take a proactive role in meeting the future needs of the citizens by encouraging growth and development of City services.
